Our little secret – Our great escape

Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary. – Sir Cecil Beaton

Leaves are turning golden. School started almost a month ago. This is the time of year everyone cozies in and makes themselves comfortable.

But for the last month or more, we decided to do anything but that. We took school and work on the road. Fighting normal and daily obligations that numb us, we removed our family and took it to the shores of Lake Tahoe.

The ability to do this is something I am endlessly grateful for. We learned a lot. Adventured more. Loved deeply. And largely kept it a secret, except from those closest to us.

But don’t worry. I’ll share the best and the worst in the coming weeks. Follow along here on the blog and on Instagram: @alyssa_kidproject
