Why is the Summit 1500 a Multi-tasking Must have?
Plain and simple, this is a great sized pack that is useful for a broad spectrum of outdoor activities. It has the durability and functionality of a pack needed for ultimate outdoor adventures at a cost that most people can stomach.
I have used this pack:
- For snowshoeing and hiking. Lightweight and comfortable.
- For skiing. The low-profile is very nice while wearing it on a chairlift!
- As a “diaper” bag. We are almost out of the diaper realm but every mom needs a go-to bag for all the kid’s crap. And having a hydration bladder for EVERY moment the kid’s are thirsty comes in very handy!
- For climbing. A great size for a day of sport climbing, with straps for helmets and extras on the outside.
- I’ve also known many who use this pack regularly for backcountry skiing and short, ultralight backpacking trips.
- Now my favorite part: It fits adults and kids! I tried it on my friend’s 7-yr-old and it fit near perfect, maybe a tad long in the torso but the straps all cinched down small enough.. So while my kids are still about 2 inches shy, next summer this will make a great backpacking pack for them!

thanks for the review and chance to win! I have been wanting to get a new pack for awhile, but new stuff for everyone else always comes before mom!
I love comfortable straps with a strong sternum strap.
Comfort and lots of strappy places are important to me. 🙂
What I consider to be the most important feature in a backpack is a good, comfortable fit – sturdy sternum and hip belts and shoulder straps. Thank you for this opportunity to win!
The waist strap and water bottle holders.
Good waist and chest straps are important to me. Water bottle holders on the outside. Clips, straps, etc. for attaching extra things.
this would be great for my 11 year old Boy Scout!
the best feature of this pack is that it fits adults and kids. I always like hydration ready
Comfort and enough storage/clips to carry my little one’s stuff.
Someday for Jackson to go backpacking with his daddy.
I have a long torso and wide shoulders so fit is key in a pack. I also need easy accessibility to the gear inside. My kids need me to have a pocket for their water bottle!
I’ve been looking for a new day pack and most important to me is fit, as I have a short torso. And organizational aids such as straps and interior and exterior pockets so I know where to find things for both my kids and me.
it’s got to be comfortable and have easy zippers that don’t get caught
Love the internal frame & all the clips for all of the things us moms have to haul!
Looks like it would be very useful!
Now that we’ll be camping with the kids we have a lot more to pack! A comfortable pack with enough storage & straps for the kids stuff would be great.
lightweight backpacks are a must have for long hikes!
This would be great for my Boy Scout. He just bridged from Webelos Cub Scouts in Boy Scouts and they are camping almost every month!
A good pack has to be comfortable, not putting stress on the shoulders and neck.
Looks like a great pack with a lot of versatility for its size!
Matches my boots, which this one does!
Comfort and hydration bladder compatible. And space of course.
Comfort and light weight.
Comfortable straps, hydration bladder, plenty of outside easy to reach pockets for needed items 🙂
Sweet looking pack. I need a new day pack for when the wife has the kid carrier. Then I can carry all of Boo’s stuff and she won’t have too in addition to Boo. 😀
Comfort straps and easy access!!! 🙂 Awesome!!! Thanks for sharing!
A pack needs to work when lightly and heavily loaded. I never know what I’m going to be carrying.
Straps that fit comfortably and feels supported on the back.
Comfort and durability are big ones.
I need cushion in the straps. If it is uncomfortable, it just won’t work.
Comfort and fit. I can work around space and pockets.
I was in an accident in 2005 that wrecked my back/shoulders, so comfort and distribution of weight are HUGE for me.

The belt has to fit well.
The pack needs to be very comfortable and possess enough pockets that I can stay organized. I despise digging and digging to find the tiny thing that made it to the bottom of the pack!
What a good looking kid with that backpack on! Looks like quite the little hiker.
A good waist belt, water bottle holders on the outside for easy access for kids, and different compartments for storage and organization.
He is looking good! 🙂
Multiple pockets, some water proof, some breathable.
How light weigh it is!
Be able to carry a baby! But I love the versatility of this otherwise–would be great for one of the older boys!
#1 is comfy straps and hip belt, then outside pockets for waterbottle, bandaids, and on the go snacks for kids
