A few months ago I became acquainted with Skida through the Instagram photos of many of my favorite female skiers, boarders and mountaineers. I guess you could say marketing through influential athletes works because I immediately checked Skida out.
Skida
Skida hats and headbands are homegrown with a passion for taking a fresh perspective on life. It all started in 2007 with Vermont skier Corinne Prevot who picked out some colorful prints and made hats for her friends and teammates at Burke Mountain Academy. The Skida obsession has grown from there.
The Skida Mission:
To bring people together, encourage play, generate smiles, and make a better place.
Tested in: Utah’s Wasatch Mountains / hiking, biking, camping.
Cost: $20-$36
Availability: Check website for style availability. ShopSkida.com
Best Use: Where style and performance meet: perfect for winter use, outdoor fitness, backpacking, etc.
Selling Points: Skida is bringing more than a fresh look to the drab old black performance wear so many of us are used to.
The Skida hats, headbands and gators we have tested are lined with warm fleece but also lightweight and less bulky than many other winter hats. They will be perfect for high alpine backpacking in addition to our normal winter regiment of skiing, snowshoeing, and sledding.
And who doesn’t want to make a style statement without sacrificing performance?! Their hats and headbands are so cute we find our family wearing them everywhere! Even for casual winter wear.
Desired Improvements: Only that I’d have more of these hats and headbands!
The Bottom Line: There is a style and fabric design for everyone! Skida headwear is a worthy purchase for your outdoor adventure arsenal.
Skida [+1] Project
Skida [+1], a program that enables Skida to donate hats to patients who are undergoing Chemotherapy on behalf of our online customers. The solution is collaborative: for every order that is submitted with a Skida [+1] promotional code, Skida will donate one hat to that corresponding cancer center.
Samples were received by Skida for the purpose of review. As always these are our real and honest opinions.
